Tar – The Beating Heart of Persian Music

The Tar is one of the most important and influential instruments of Persian music. Renowned for its rich, resonant, and highly expressive sound, it has played a central role in Iran’s classical musical tradition for more than two centuries. The instrument features a distinctive double-chambered body carved from mulberry wood, a long fretted neck, and six strings played with a small plectrum.
