Persian Music ensemble
SAMA is a musical and cultural project founded in 1994 by Ali Pirabi in Shiraz, Iran. Its focus lies in preserving, performing, and developing Iranian music and the regional musical traditions of Iran. Today, SAMA brings together musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds through different ensembles and artistic projects — including the SAMA Orchestra and SAMA Choir — while sharing the richness of Iranian music with international audiences.
The Santur is one of the most important instruments of Persian music. Played with two delicate wooden mallets, it is known for its clear, warm, and shimmering sound. For centuries, it has been a central instrument of classical Persian music and a symbol of its elegance and expressive beauty.
