Omid Mohammadpour

Omid Mohammadpour was born in 1974 in Khorramshahr, Iran. In 1993, he began studying music by learning to play the tar. In 1998, he started learning the setar and became acquainted with the Isfahan school of music under the guidance of Ali Karimzadeh and Mohammad Javad Kasaei. From 1999 to 2009, he performed as a musician with the Sepand Shahin Shahr Music Group. In 2005, he began teaching the setar. In 2009, he founded the music group Bamdad in Shahin Shahr. From 2011 to 2013, he studied music with a specialization in Iranian instrumental performance at the Rahil University of Applied Sciences in Tehran. In 2012, he participated in an orchestral conducting course led by Shahdad Rohani. From 2011 to 2013, he also attended a preparatory program for the Master’s entrance examination in Music. In 2015, he composed and released his solo setar album “Neshat.” In 2017, he moved to Germany and began performing solo concerts. From 2021 to 2025, he performed as a musician with the Navaye Omid Leipzig Music Group.
