SAMA Ensemble – A Thousand and One Harmony (from Bards and Gosans)

We are delighted to present the new concert project of the SAMA Ensemble:

“A Thousand and One Harmony (from Bards and Gosans)” — an evening between Orient and Occident, between desert, temple, and royal court.

Under the musical direction of Ali Pirabi and with narration by Dr. Mohsen Banaie, the audience will experience a fascinating connection of Jewish, Arabic, and Persian musical traditions: from Hebrew piyyutim and Arabic melodies to the poetic sounds of Persia.

At the heart of the program lies the story of Bahram Gour, the king and hunter from Ferdowsi’s Book of Kings (Shahnameh) — a tale of courage, love, and destiny, brought back to life through music, words, and rhythm.
